Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As you aware during these challenging times, Holy Cross School is continuing to abide by the government health guidelines and the required delivery of education via remote learning. Like all Manitoba schools in full remote learning, we continue to accommodate Kindergarten to Grade 8 children (who are not required to self-isolate) of critical services workers who cannot make alternative care arrangements, as well as high-risk students and those with special needs.

We have approximately one month left of academic activities and I’m sure that all of you are busy completing your school assignments and looking forward to a warm summer holiday.  Keep up the good work that you are doing and let’s continue to pray that this COVID-19 will be behind us when you return in September 2021.

Congratulations to all our grade 8 students and best wishes in your next journey. A big thank you to your parents and guardians for their tremendous support.  Family is one of the most important influences in a child’s development and children thrive when parents actively promote their development.

Winnipeg free press picture and other pictures

Our delegates- Jailley Marcelino (Grade 7- Holy Cross School) Project title- Be a Carer not a Carrier: A study of Barriers to Protect Yourself and Others Against COVID19 (Summary of her project- As we continue living in this new norm, wearing mask, wearing face shield, washing hands and social distancing. We wonder if these measures truly help to decrease or even stop the COVID19 virus.)

Deion Liu (Grade 8- Holy Cross School) Project title-- To stop or to boost: Caspase 3 as the target for treatment (Summary of his project -I learnt that it is not always true that in order to treat a disease you have to inhibit pathways. Sometimes, it is better to induce the activation of these pathways in order to treat the illness.)

Our students also had a meeting with Minister Cathy Cox -Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage and Minister responsible for the Status of Women, Deputy minister Jeff Hantiuk, and other dignitaries from Manitoba Legislature. Our students received special welcome and acknowledgement for their hard work! Keep it up!!!
HAVE A FANTASTIC SUMMER!!
