Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The month of December is an important time in our calendar for it enables families to be closer together, share the gift of love, happiness and an opportunity to celebrate the birth of Christ.

We have a number of important events taking place at Holy Cross School and we invite everyone to attend these initiatives.  I’m hoping to see all of you at our parent/teacher conferences scheduled for November 30 and Monday, Dec. 1 and our Book Fair - which will be held on November 28 – December 1, 2017.  This year on Thursday, December 21, we will have two Christmas concerts.  One will be held in the afternoon from 1:00 – 2:30 pm and the other concert will be held at 7:00 pm. All parents/guardians are invited to attend this important event and support our students and teachers. This year a very interesting and exciting concert has been prepared for all to enjoy.  Space could be an issue so please attend early for the event of your choice.   A silver collection will take place at the entrance to the concerts.

On another note, please join me in giving a warm welcome to Mrs. Mary Pollard, who joins Holy Cross School as the new French/Religion teacher.

On behalf of all our Staff, PAC and School Board, may I extend to all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Have a safe and pleasant Holiday.  I look forward to seeing you back on Monday, January 8, 2018.

Best Wishes,

Alexander Cap, B. Ed.,M.Ed.
Principal, Holy Cross School

USED UNIFORM SALE
We will be having a used uniform sale in May, as well as September.  If any families have gently used uniforms, please drop them off at the office.
A small group of grade 7 students visited the Christmas Cheer Board as part of Social Studies class.  We packed 250 hampers which would feed between 1000-1250 people.  It was a great opportunity to help others and get into the Christmas spirit!

HOLY CROSS PARISH MASS TIMES

All families, regardless of their faith, are warmly invited to attend the weekly weekend masses at Holy Cross Parish, 252 Dubuc St., just down the street from the school.

Mass times are as follows:

Saturday, 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, 7:50 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 12:00 p.m.

Please keep your tuition account up to date!  We accept cash, cheque, Interac, Visa and Mastercard.  If you are unable to make it into the office, we do accept credit card payments over the phone.

Should you have outstanding fees for the 2016-2017 school year, please remit payment at your earliest convenience.

THANK YOU!

On November 17th, 2017, five of our Grade 6 and 7 student council members along with Mrs. Dado attended the Manitoba Catholic Schools Social Justice Workshop at Holy Rosary Parish. The theme this year was "Women at the Heart of Peace". In the morning, we prayed with His Grace Archbishop Gagnon then students listened to a presentation by Development and Peace. In the afternoon, students attended breakout sessions lead by Mennonite Central Committee Manitoba, Canadian Foodgrains Bank and the University of Manitoba.

December marks our annual Wine Raffle.  We ask that each family each donate

Our students and staff have been working very hard on this year's production, we hope you will all join us at one of our two show times:

December 21st at 1:00 p.m.

There will be a silver donation collected at the door.
Once again we are asking that each family bring NUT FREE DAINTIES to share after each of the Christmas Concert performances.
