Holy Cross School

Sports

Students are also encouraged to join a team, such as volleyball, basketball or track and field. Being on a team promotes co-operation and leadership skills for students, while helping them to build self-confidence and improve their skills in that particular activity.

Leadership

Leadership roles come in the form of being a House leader. Grade 8 students are responsible for organizing House events and the hard work that goes into developing these special gatherings. Students present their ideas to the entire school as well as to their respective Houses in the form of activities that are performed school-wide on a monthly basis.

School Safety Patrol Program

As part of the School Safety Patrol Program conducted by the Winnipeg Police Department, students in Grades 5 and 6 have an opportunity to serve their school community by acting as crossing guards at intersections near the school from 8:00 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. daily. Students wishing to be patrols must fill out an application form, with the required parent signature. The staff member in charge of patrols will then take responsibility for their training and supervision. All students are expected to obey the directions of the crossing guards.

Yearbook

Each year, Holy Cross School produces an exceptional yearbook that records the activities that students have participated in during the academic year.
