Holy Cross School’s Harvest Days are a special program where, one day a month, everyone in the school community is asked to bring a specific item for the poor. The food items are collected and distributed through Winnipeg Harvest or the Holy Cross Parish Food Bank.
As part of its outreach program, the Holy Cross School coordinates a plan to have a large number of organizations throughout Manitoba collect pop can tabs. These tabs are recycled to provide funds for a wheelchair for students in need within Manitoba.
As of July 1, 2018, there is a new drop-off location for the tabs. All tabs can now be dropped off at Trailblazers Life Choices Inc. located at 1069 Autumnwood Drive in Windsor Park.
The program will still be running out of Holy Cross School, but the space for storage of the tabs is no longer large enough for the amount that is received throughout the year.
