The focus of the resource team is to support the classroom teacher in identifying and programming for children who are struggling to meet expected grade level outcomes. This may involve:
- Assessing students at the request of classroom teachers
- Providing direct intervention with students who need significant support consultation and collaboration with classroom teachers, parents, school administration and the Clinical Services Unit (including social work, psychology, speech and language, occupational therapy services) available to us through the school division
- Helping students develop greater maturity in self understanding, interpersonal relationships and communications, problem solving and decision making, understanding human development, social awareness as well as acceptance and responsibility
